Building financial capability
During her tenure as an worker she has received training from the Department of Women and Child Development. When she was placed in Basti she faced some challenges at the community level – only a few children were accessing the Anganwadi centre and there were issues related to quality of food.
Firstly, she started to monitor weight of the children on regular basis and to keep the records of all children in her register. The severely acute malnourished children started getting monitored twice in a month. She used to refer severely acute malnourished children to primary health centre.
“Supplementary nutrition used to be left at Anganwadi centre due to quality issue and complaints from the community. She repeatedly made complaints in her monthly progress report to her Supervisor to improve its quality and quantity. Today, the supplementary nutrition is in good demand among children who access the Anganwadi centre.”
